Absentee Bidding

Unable to attend an auction in person? Absentee bidding allows you to participate and compete for items even when you cannot be there on auction day.

McPherson Auction & Realty Company makes it easy to participate remotely through our absentee bidding service. When you submit an absentee bid, our auction team will competitively bid on your behalf, just as if you were standing in the auction room.

Your maximum bid represents the highest amount you are willing to pay. We do not automatically start by bidding your maximum amount. Instead, our auctioneer will competitively represent your interests and attempt to purchase the item for the lowest possible price while competing against other bidders.

How Absentee Bidding Works

1. Review the Auction Items

Carefully review the items you are interested in and determine the maximum amount you are willing to bid. If you need additional information about a lot, please contact McPherson Auction & Realty Company before the auction.

2. Submit Your Absentee Bid

Submit your absentee bids before the auction deadline. We recommend contacting us at least three days before the auction date so our team has adequate time to answer questions and provide additional information when available.

3. We Bid on Your Behalf

During the auction, our auctioneer will execute your bids competitively. The auctioneer determines opening bids and bidding increments based on the item, competition, and circumstances of the auction.

4. Receive Your Results

Following the auction, a representative from McPherson Auction & Realty Company will contact you with the results of your absentee bids, including items you successfully purchased and items that were not won.

Important Absentee Bid Information

It is the bidder’s responsibility to determine the value, condition, and authenticity of each lot before placing an absentee bid. McPherson Auction & Realty Company does not guarantee the value, condition, or authenticity of any item. Buyers are encouraged to inspect items personally when possible or contact our office with questions before bidding.

All items purchased through absentee bidding must be paid for within three days of the auction unless prior arrangements have been made.

Auction purchases are subject to applicable state sales tax laws. Items shipped outside the state may not be subject to state sales tax. Shipping and handling charges will be added when applicable.

If you wish to pay by credit card, please contact McPherson Auction & Realty Company with your payment information.
